Buzz Does

See how we make a positive impact

Buzz Does is our long-term innovative strategy to help us fulfil our social and environmental obligations as a business and exceed our responsibilities to the wider community and future generations.

Through our collective work as a team, Buzz does more than marketing to education. We give back to our local community by supporting schools, businesses and charities.

“As a business, we want to work consciously and leave a genuine impact on the world around us. Through Buzz Does, we’re able to assess our environmental impact and take measures to improve it. We also want to work with community projects that support people and organisations around us.”

Protecting our planet has never been more important. To make sure we’re meeting and exceeding our responsibilities as a business, we’ve started to implement a number of measures to reduce our environmental impact.

  • We purchase sustainable office supplies from our local zero-waste shop.
  • Participated in the Eco-I North West Programme with the University of Liverpool to better understand our carbon footprint and develop a clear action plan to guide our next steps.
  • Continue to educate our team on our environmental impact so that we each understand the steps we can take to lower our carbon footprint.
  • Developed a partnership with Let’s Go Zero – the national campaign helping schools to become zero carbon by 2030. Through a series of email marketing campaigns, we helped Let’s Go Zero to increase awareness of their campaign, encourage more schools to sign up and encourage both teachers and students to take positive steps towards a more sustainable future.

We’re passionate about giving back to our local community.

  • Support local businesses by shopping locally.
  • Deliver interactive workshops in primary and secondary schools on marketing and persuasive writing to inspire the next generation.
  • Delivered mock interviews for the students at Bolton School to support their career progression.
  • Attended Ladybridge High School’s Careers Fairs to introduce learners to careers in marketing and the diverse range of roles available.

Creating and maintaining a supportive business culture is really important to us. We’re continually looking to expand the support available for our team both personally and professionally.

  • Shortlisted as finalists for the BIBA’s Employer of the Year award, a great achievement that celebrated our supportive business culture.
  • Provide training and upskilling opportunities for team members to support their professional development.
  • Carry out an annual culture survey where we encourage all team members to identify and share new opportunities for growth.
  • Celebrate team milestones, achievements and birthdays, and plan fun, fully-paid-for social events to help create a rewarding business culture.
  • Introduced a Positive Praise Whiteboard where team members can recognise and celebrate outstanding performance.

Supporting our team’s mental health and wellbeing is a top priority for us. Below are some of the steps we’ve introduced so far.

  • We offer an interest-free loan to team members to support them financially and reduce related stress.
  • Introduced Rewards Gateway, an employee experience platform where team members can access discounts on a diverse range of brands and products.
  • Introduced additional flexi-days where team members can request extra working-from-home days to support their personal circumstances.
  • We celebrate our team members’ personal life milestones to create an inclusive, supportive culture.
